  • First and only not-for-profit hospice in our community
  • One of the first hospice organizations in Texas, founded in 1981
  • Patient services are funded by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and the generosity of the community
  • HospiceMidland's care follows the patient to the hospital, nursing home, assisted living, or back home
  • Patient services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week

HospiceMidland has served hundreds of patients since 1981, ranging in age from newborns to seniors over 100.

HospiceMidland milestones:

  • Established first hospice program in Midland, Texas
  • Licensed in 1980 as a home health agency
  • Incorporated in 1981 in Midland, Texas as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization
  • Certified in 1983 as a Medicare Hospice Agency
  • Established Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Centre – opened January 2003
  • Accredited in 2003 by CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Program)
  • Opened HospiceMidland Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital – March 2004
  • Celebrated 25 years of service to the community - 2006
  • Rays of Hope celebrated 5 years of service - January 2009
  • The Inspiration Centre was dedicated - March 2008

Rays of Hope Children's Grief Centre

  • Permian Basin's only children's grief center - opened in January 2003
  • Provides peer support groups for children 4-18 who have experienced a death of a loved one or another loss or transition
  • No charge for participation - an outreach of HospiceMidland
  • Programs, classes and groups are offered year round
  • HospiceMidland has served hundreds of patients since 1981, ranging in age from newborns to seniors over 100.
